What can we do?

These past few months have left me feeling completely helpless. Between the COVID-19 pandemic and witnessing George Flyod's horrific death, I am beginning to wonder if I can make a difference at all. Broken for our brothers and sisters of color and our community as a whole, I spent almost every night praying and seeking God’s guidance. Specifically I am asking Him, “What can we do? Luke 4:18 came into my mind. It reads:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives

and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.”

God has risen up the Church to make a difference in this world. The Gospel equips us to preach, heal, proclaim, recover, and set free those who are oppressed. In the face of tragedy, heartache, and pain we are seeking God, reaching out to community leaders, and planning ways to be part of the solution. By living a Gospel-centered life, being family-focused, and making long-term commitments to both people and communities, we seek to become part of an atmosphere of change: spiritual, emotional, and physical change.

If you too are wondering what we can do in the midst of so much pain, here is our answer. We can love, we can pray, we can empathize, and we can mourn with those who mourn. We can examine our own hearts and repent. We can listen, we can speak up, we can become educated, and we can stand on the principles of the Lord. We can go and live as Jesus commanded us and share the Gospel, while loving one’s neighbor as oneself.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST IS OUR ONLY HOPE!

Because of this, our team has decided that there is no better time than now to open up our in person ministries. We are starting back Sunday Night Fellowship and Saturday Community Outreach, while adding Friday Night Prayer and Worship nights. We have been blessed with an amazing backyard to host these events.

By proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, going out in the streets to share our faith, praying with our neighbors and meeting the needs of those around us, we live out our mission of bringing the love of Jesus to each and every home and heart in our neighborhood, community, and city.  Please continue to pray for the Greenhouse Project during these challenging times. We cannot operate or reach our community without your partnership and support. Thank you very much!
