Please Pray For Max
Please Pray & Share! Our 3-year-old son, Max Clifford, is having a yearly procedure at CHOP on Friday, May 26. In 2020, at 9 months old, Max was diagnosed with Peutz-Jeghers syndrome (PJS). This is a serious and rare disorder where growths called polyps form in the intestines. People with PJS have a high risk of developing certain cancers in the digestive system organs including the stomach, liver, intestines and bladder.
Because of challenges in Max’s body, he must be admitted and medically prepared on Thursday for the Friday procedure. My wife Emily and I plan to stay at the hospital with him, while our family takes care of our daughter Ava.
We are heartbroken by the level of pain, uneasiness and hardship that Max endures. He doesn't really understand what is happening or why. We are not sure what we will face over the next week, but there is one thing we do know. No matter what, we are called to trust God.
Yes, I have cried out to God. Yes, I have asked God to take this burden from my son and place it on me. But God always reminds our family to trust Him no matter what we face, because we have a greater hope!
In 2 Corinthians 1: 3-4 it says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
Our Father is the God of comfort and mercy. He calls us to comfort others and, when hard times come (and they will), He calls us to run to Him! So please join us and our friends and family in praying for Max. We are praying for healing but also for God to use this tough time to allow us to bring comfort to others and ultimately glorify Himself.
Please feel free to reach out with prayer requests for your loved ones or to share encouragement.
