New Headquarters Just Next Door
July 15th, 2022 was a big day for me.
Not only was I celebrating my birthday, but also the faithful way God brought an eight year dream to fulfillment. The 44House–the home attached to ours– was acquired just two months ago to become Greenhouse Project’s new headquarters!
Quick backstory: Five years ago, me and Emily were led to 23rd street in a crazy story where we ended up driving while praying to see if God would lead us to a house. As we turned down East 23rd street I said to Emily, “I'm looking for a three story red brick house” and Emily said, “…as long as it has a red door.” We stopped and, no joke, staring back at us was a three story red brick house with a red door!
That house was 44 East 23rd street, what we call the 44House. God moved us to pull over and pray over this corner. We prayed that if God gave us this corner we would dedicate our lives, our family and this house to serve Him and the community as long as He has us here.
While God didn't give us that house at the time, He gave us the one attached–the 42House. We prayed everyday that same faithful prayer believing by faith that God has called us to this corner and space to do His will. Just two months ago, God answered those prayers with the acquisition of the 44House. Shout out to the Paul Lot Group of Keller Williams for the generous gift of labor and time to help us with the process.
Here’s the “why”– from the day we moved into the 42House we outgrew the space. From the basement update for the Homework Club to a back patio created by a donor for Church and prayer meetings outside–every inch of space was used, especially by our growing family.
Now that we have the blessing of two distinct spaces for our family and ministry, we are in an optimal position to do more. Lots more.
The majority of our meetings, office space and gatherings have moved just one door down to 44House. Our “big vision” that we pray over is for our headquarters space to provide:
Leadership training
Team building
Overnight rooms for addicts in crisis and more…
Maybe God is asking YOU to take a next step in joining our team as a prayer warrior, worship leader, Homework Club mentor, driver, food outreach helper or generous financial support?
Our work continues to move towards a city being radically transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We do that by being gospel-centered, living side by side with our neighbors, making long term commitments to communities and being family focused. Everything we do is centered around long-term transformation. Everything from Sunday Church, to recovery counseling, to food outreach and the Homework Club. We are helping people grow in difficult places.
Thank you so much for all of your prayers and support. I would love to show you around! Check out the Vision message from July 10th and follow on social media for videos, and reels of the new space, and to get more involved with volunteering, praying or to become a monthly supporter.
