Food Donations with Small Things
Did you know: Greenhouse Project gives an average of 1200 lbs of fresh food each week to our neighbors, local ministries and retirement communities! We’ve seen the incredible impact of our service with Small Things, a Philly based food bank, since Thanksgiving 2020. Families who can’t afford fresh food are receiving nutrient-dense vegetables, fruit and meats, building not only physical health but mental and emotional health through consistent connection with our Greenhouse team with a practical need. We are building trust in relationships by showing we notice and care, and making important contact in a distanced world.
How did this start? During the holidays, we discovered a few families in need of food for the holidays and reached out to Small Things to help. Small Things Executive Director Vito Baldini and our very own John Clifford have been friends since the early 2000s. Both came out of drug addiction and reconnected when Vito launched Easter Outreach in 2010.
Thank you to Small Things for your commitment to partnering with local churches to meet food needs, and giving us access to love and support Chester with more than food. By mobilizing people to reach out and care for one another, we believe lives will be changed and communities, transformed. Change takes time and the small steps we take together leads to tangible growth in our community.
God is using small things to do the big things, and we are here for it.
