Hope in the Storm
In the midst of chaos, we wanted to share a few updates with our life in Chester and with the ministry.
My family and I are still here in Chester, and our house is our ministry. With everything going on, we have had to make a few changes to our events but our ministry has continued to stay busy.
This is what's been going on:
Greenhouse Project
We have been regularly coaching and counseling over 10 men in various positions of recovery. Plus many recovery triage calls.
We helped one man coming out of prison with a place to stay and assisted him into moving into a recovery house.
Over this past month we have assisted 4 families with loved ones in addiction.
We are continuing to develop relationships in our community as more people are knocking on our door asking for prayer or just looking to connect. More opportunities to love people present themselves by living side by side with them.
Greenhouse Fellowship Church
One man gave his life to Jesus on a phone call and is now getting plugged into our fellowship and discipleship groups! Praise God!
Last week we met in smaller groups to pray and seek God.
This week, Sunday church meetings will move to the ZOOM platform online, though some will still meet at our house due to lack of access to technology- we believe this is the wisest way to gather at this time.
Discipleship Groups are still meeting by ZOOM, and a few new men have been added over the recent weeks!
With more people being at home, our influence is not diminished. We are a church without walls, a church for the streets, looking to share the Love of Jesus with all and to be a light in the city.
I cannot wait to share all the wonderful stories but at this time we are looking to share hope in a city that has seen great hopelessness especially now with this crisis. This is why we need your help.
We have been able to make a difference because of the generosity of our supporters. Thank you SO MUCH for continuing to partner with us during this difficult time. People have been asking how they can help, and we are asking people to do these three things:
Give generously. Thank you for the continued support!
Pray for those we serve, for our community and for our Greenhouse leaders.
Share our info with someone, especially if you know someone struggling in addiction or has a loved one in addiction.
Please feel free to call Pastor John directly at 610.874.2753 if you need any support. God bless you!
