When I came off the street, I had nothing.
I was able to eat because of this outreach.

Now, I give my food to recovery house men who don’t have.
If not for Greenhouse Project, I’d be completely broke...
This has saved me.

— Richard | mid-70’s, retired, former addict, serves at Food Outreach

150+ neighbors living below the poverty line rely on weekly Food Outreach to eat.

Food Outreach is not only a lifeline for families—it’s where we witness the power of authentic connection and love in action.

Neighbors are known by name. It’s here we learn about the struggles. A scary health prognosis for a family member. A loved one battling drug relapse. Another job lost. A surprise pregnancy.

Our faithful volunteers create an atmosphere of ministry where neighbors are loved, encouraged, prayed for, accepted, listened to.

Neighbors come to receive free food. They leave having encountered Jesus.

Greenhouse Project’s Food Outreach does much more than feed bellies — it quite literally feeds faith.

With the economy, Food Outreach helps put food on my table.

I love the people coming together. The prayer. The vegetables, snacks, juice. All of it helps—thank you!

— Kevin | an early riser from down the block, Food Outreach regular

Will you prayerfully consider feeding a hungry family this Easter season?

Feed the Faith is raising $35,000 by April 25 to cover expenses like food costs, delivery truck rental, drivers, fuel and supplies in 2025.

Your gift today goes right to work. Here’s how:

  • $1,400 sponsors two weeks of Food Outreach

  • $700 sponsors one week of Food Outreach

  • $325 covers a week of driving, truck rental, fuel

  • $125 provides one week of truck rental and fuel

  • $50 provides 185 meals (Just $0.27 for a 1.2 lb meal)

Fresh food here is the best. People are provided for, not having to choose food over medication.

I used to spend almost all limited income on groceries, even at Dollar Store. I can afford bills now.

The best part? Friends I’ve made here…
we look out for each other.

— Angela | mid-60’s, disabled, no government assistance

 FAQ

  • Yes, we’re a registered 501C(3) charity. All donations receive a tax receipt. You can donate securely through our online donation page. If you have any questions about your donation or would like to make a special investment, please email info@ghproject.org.

  • We observe and hear directly from neighbors that our community is hurting and struggling with daily challenges. Hardships include drug and alcohol addiction, violence, food insecurity, abuse and trauma, unemployment, homelessness, education fallout, and lack of access to practical resources that end these cycles.

  • In fiscal year 2023, 80% of our funding went to program expenses, which covers addiction recovery counseling, outreach events, after school education, church, teaching supplies, and staff. We rely completely on funds that come from individual supporters, church partnerships, and local businesses who champion our mission.

  • Lasting transformation only happens in a community where lives are shared. Many development programs meet urgent needs and aid those in crisis. Although practical support helps, this alone does not create long-term healing and change. Our model goes far beyond handouts or short-term programming. Greenhouse Project is distinguished by living life side-by-side with the people we serve to build long-term, Christ-like relationships that promote positive, lasting change.

  • We always welcome volunteers with a heart for people in broken areas like Chester. Everyone knows this is a tough place to live—you can be a light for our neighbors. Come meet the people you are impacting for a few hours! Serving at Food Outreach is the easiest, low-commitment way to volunteer.

Other ideas? Consider joining an upcoming prayer walk, homework club, trash clean-up day, or Sunday church. Volunteer for a day or become a regular… you decide the commitment level.

Please share Greenhouse Project with friends to keep the momentum growing!
